Hall Lets at St Mark’s Church

 

Owing to our very central location the St Mark’s Halls are frequently used by outside organisations, for meetings, fund-raising etc.

We provide a large hall, with stage, a meeting room (Session Room) which will accomodate up to 50 people, a small meeting room to accommodate about 10-12 people as well as other rooms for small groups.  In addition there are ladies and gents toilets as well as a fully fitted kitchen if you are catering for coffee mornings, meals or just for a cup of tea.

All bookings should be made through the church office which is open 10.00am – 1.00pm, Monday to Friday.  An answerphone operates when the office is closed and contact can also be made via e-mail or in writing.  All bookings will be confirmed in writing and must be paid in advance.  Special arrangements may be made for meetings organised at short notice or for long term lets.

Contact details are below following details of accommodation and charges, which were effective from 1 January 2013 and remain in force (for 2016).  Since these photographs were taken the Main Hall has been re-decorated (2016) and in January 2017, secondary glazing has been installed.

 In relation to the Hall the use of the kitchen is included for meetings.  An additional charge of £25.00 for use of the kitchen for meal preparation applies.

It should be noted that the rates specified above do not include any use which, in the opinion of the Congregational Board consists of a Concert or Commercially organised event or any other Play or Performance where admission may be charged (or paid in kind) – Special Arrangements Apply – details on application.  St Mark’s does have a Theatre Licence (Theatres Act 1968).

In addition to these rooms accommodation for small meetings (six or so persons) is available in the Vestry, Ladies Room or Deacons’ Room on the Sanctuary level.  Charges are £10.00 per hour, up to 2 hours and £5.00 per hour or part thereafter (including use of the kitchen for tea/coffee making).  The use of the kitchen for meal preparation is charged at £25.00.  Use of the Sanctuary for appropriate meetings as approved by the Kirk Session is charged at the same rates as the Main Hall.

All dimensions and capacities are approximate and no warranty (express or implied) is given.

All rates are applicable until 31 December 2016 (extended to 2017).
