Mary Ngwira, one of our friends from Mpachika in Malawi sent me a beautiful e-mail comprising photographs of a labour of love by a sculptor from the small town of Groom in Texas, which is about 70 miles from Amarillo.  Each sculpture is an image from the Easter Story and I have re-arranged them to tell the story.  The quotations are taken from "The Message", the Bible in contemporary language and from the narrative of the Stations of the Cross.  Each picture was originally accompanied by a short piece of text about Jesus which I have also repeated here but as a separate narrative.

"This is my body broken for you " Pilate told the crowd, "You're the judge and jury"

"They proceeded out to the Crucifixion"  Jesus falls the first time

Jesus meets his mother  Simon of Cyrene carries the cross

Veronica wipes the face of Jesus  Jesus falls the second time

"Daughters of Jerusalem don't cry for me"  Jesus is stripped of his garments

Jesus is nailed to the cross  "They crucified him, along with the criminals"

Jesus' body is removed from the cross  "The stone was moved away"

"Don't be afraid, I know you're looking for Jesus"  "Later he appeared, but in a different form"

In chemistry, he turned water to wine; in biology, he was born without the normal conception; in physics, he disproved the law of gravity when he ascended into heaven; in economics, he disproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5,000 men with two fishes & 5 loaves of bread; in medicine, he cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs.

In history, he is the beginning and the end; in government, he shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Prince of Peace.  In religion, he said no one comes to the father except through him.

So, who is he?  He is Jesus!

Join me and let's celebrate him.  He is worthy.

The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil, the hand that will send this message to everybody shall not labour in vain and the mouth saying Amen to this prayer shall smile forever.

Remain in God and seek his face always.
Amen

In god I’ve found everything!

The Greatest Man in History, Jesus, had no servants, yet they called Him Master; had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher; had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer; he had no army, yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world; he committed no crime, yet they crucified Him; he was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

I feel honoured to serve such a Leader who loves us!
