What's Going On and Coming Up at St Mark's
Details of our services can be found on the Worship Page but there's always a lot going on or coming up at St Mark's and you can find out about that here.
Sunday 22 August 2010Rev Diane Hobson, the Sole Nominee selected by the Nominating Committee conducted public worship at Aberdeen St Mark's Church of Scotland at 11.00am on Sunday 22 August 2010. Immediately after the service members of the congregation voted for or against Diane being elected as our new minister. Votes were then counted and an almost unanimous vote in favour of Diane's election was recorded (161/6). Members then went on to sign the Call. Diane indicated that she would accept the Call and it will be available for the next two Sundays before being passed to Presbytery. It is anticipated that Diane's induction service will be held on Thursday 28 October 2010. Adherents and regular worshippers in the congregation also have the opportunity to sign a Paper of Concurrence and Mandate forms are available for housebound or other members unable to sign the Call in person. |

At the last meeting of the Grouping's Development Group it was agreed that our next social should be a fundraiser with the benefit going to Abigail Ministries. It is through Abigail Ministries that Kathleen Innes of Queen Street Church helps to suport the Rugut Family in Kenya. Rev Daniel Rugut was associated with Queen Street when he was studying Divinity at Aberdeen University. Planning for the evening is in the early stages but the date has been fixed and representatives from Abigail Ministries have been invited to attend. Further details will be intimated in the Grouping Churches and on this page as details are finalised. |
