The Other Events Page
Not everything that happens with St Mark's takes place in our own church and sometimes only one or two people may be involved. If you have any news, or stories to record that you would like to share drop me an e-mail, include photos etc and I will broadcast your news to the World Wide Web (or your Auntie Bunty in Huntly).
Wedding.jpg)
My first item involves friends of Rosalyn Rennie who were married by Rev John M Watson on 16 May 2009 at St Matthews Episcopal Church in Oldmeldrum. Miss Katrina Morrison wed Mr Gavin Angus. And just as if to prove its a small world, Gavin's dad Arthur is an old work colleague of the webmaster!
You can see the wedding here.
Bowling
Aberdeen Churches Bowling League is heading towards the latter part of the Season’s activities and before it all fades from everyone’s minds we wanted to put out a call that we are still anxious to extend our League.
Summer 2009 hasn’t been the greatest season for outdoor activities but we’ve met most of our fixtures and still believe that it’s a lovely way to spend a Summer Evening. We just wish more would join our ranks.
We were delighted when Northfield Church responded to our publicity by entering a team and the group of new players feeling their way with obvious pleasure, from raw beginners to old hands, has been a joy to us. And I think they enjoyed it too!
Our Tournament , way back in June at Westburn Park, turned out to be appreciated by all concerned. Many players had very fond memories of the previous version run by St Stephens Church and the organisers tried to embrace the open-ness of it. What a delight it was to see a number of young players and also some novice players. We just hope it bodes well for the future. One of the stated objects of the League within Aberdeen Churches is to promote fellowship on the bowling green and to foster the game of bowls. We are trying our best.
