It is only right that I should make public our grateful thanks to our Locum, the Rev. Bill Wilkie, for all the tremendous work he is doing to keep us together and our spirits up, here at Queen Street during what for at least part of our united church has been a very long time of vacancy. His attention in particular to our elderly, hospitalised and funeral load has been exemplary and we owe him a huge debt of gratitude.
It is a great pity that the inclement weather forced the cancellation of the World Day of Prayer Service on Friday 3rd March although a few brave souls turned up and enjoyed a brief time of fellowship together. Our Songs of Praise Service at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday 12th March during which a large number of the new hymns from CH4 were sung was disappointingly attended but again heavy snow falls doubtless took their toll of the numbers who could attend. Although I was unable to attend the most recent meeting of the Grouping Representatives due to ill-health I know that a number of joint activities are being planned and we at Queen Street look forward to working with you on these in the days that lie ahead. May God's richest blessings be with all of you and your ministries as we seek together to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our City. N.J.Haggart (Session Clerk - Queen Street Church) |
